What will the Kingdom of God cost you?
Monday, July 19th, 2010 | Author: Roger

Have you every really stopped and thought about what the kingdom of God will cost you to have it in its fullness?

Remember the young rich ruler? He said; what one thing do I lack that will keep me from entering the kingdom of heaven. The Lord said; if you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and come follow me into the kingdom. (Matt. 19-22)

This is why the Lord turned and said to those following Him.

Luk 14:25 Now large crowds were traveling with Jesus. He turned and said to them,
Luk 14:26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, as well as his own life, he can’t be my disciple.
Luk 14:27 Whoever doesn’t carry his cross and follow me can’t be my disciple.

Luk 14:33 In the same way, none of you can be my disciple unless he gives up all his possessions.”

Mar 10:24 And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
Mar 10:25 It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Whatever your greatest desire is, that is where you will be found. The young ruler was stuck in his desire to have  comfort now, never realizing that there was a day coming when the world as he knew it could offer him nothing. What will a man give in exchange for his soul at the end? Jesus was telling him what to do now,  so he wouldn’t end up at life’s end suffering for eternity for what he didn’t do. But the cost was too much for him.

Read Luke 16:19-31  It wasn’t that the man was  evil or even hateful. He just couldn’t see the door that would lead him into the kingdom of God. He knew he was blessed in every way. But he saw the kingdom of God being demonstrated through the life of Christ.  Why hadn’t he seen this before as being important in the lives of the priest?  Hosea 4:6 reads that the people of God perish because the priests refused to seek  knowledge of the kingdom of God and it’s presence.  There’s always tomorrow… but if someone told you it can be could possessed right now, what would you do to gain access into it?

I believe that Papa has asked, ” What is your greatest desire”?  Do you want to dream about the kingdom of heaven or are you operating in it as Jesus did?  What’s in your way? Who put it there and why do you let it remain? Is there room in your faith for the new and old of God to work together to bring forth revelation of the kingdom? Or has the door to the kingdom been shut because you’re afraid of what it will cost you?  Have you truly counted the cost to live in His Kingdom?  Just Thinkin!

Unfair Advantage!
Thursday, August 20th, 2009 | Author: Roger

Today while driving through Atlanta, the Lord suddenly reminded me that as Believers, we have an advantage, that unbelieving people don’t; actually He said we have an Unfair, Advantage!  That is, we have Him on our side!!!

Psalm 27 says The Lord is my Light, and my Salvation, Whom Shall I Fear or Dread?  The Lord is the Refuge, and Stronghold, of my life–of whom shall I be afraid,?  (amp)
Wow!  What a great reminder!!!  Also, He reminded me that if God is For us, Who can be Against, Us?  We have an unfair advantage against the wiles of the enemy, against sickness, against poverty, against ANYTHING that comes our way!  What happens to us though, is that we forget who we are in Him and who He is in us and then the enemy, sees that we have a little “crack” of identity, loss and begins to work on us through our thoughts.  So the Holy Spirit, being the Good Friend that He is, comes along to remind us who we are and NOTHING should be impossible to us, because we know Who we have believed and believe that He can keep what we  have trusted to Him until the Day of Redemption!   Now, that ’s not to say we don’t have “dark days” or days when we feel like we’re not exactly “winning”; but at some point our spirit gets to Rise Up in the Power of His Might (the Lord’s) and say,”Wait a minute!  I briefly forgot who I was and Who is on my side, but now that I remember, things are going to look different; and that includes me!”

Also, the Lord reminded me that  if and when we ever REALLY get a good hold of the thought that we really do all belong to the same Family (in Him), and that we should  help one another accomplish our goals, we might begin to see more VICTORY than we have seen before!  What a thought, huh?  After all, who in his right mind (or heart) would want to put a “stumbling block” in the way of someone who might be there to help you “run  your race” or achieve your goals?   Help us, Holy Spirit see each other as brothers and sisters!  Would we treat Jesus, our elder brother, the way we are treating our other brothers and sisters?    Would we be jealous of Him when something good happened to Him?  Would we discard Him and push Him over to the side when He made a mistake or was having a bad day?

Jesus, as our older brother, teach us to love each other in spite of ourselves and the things we get tangled up in!  Remind us that if we’re having a “bad day”, someone else may be having a worse one and might just need us to reach out to them more than we need to wallow in our “stuff”!    We’re really going to need each other more and more in the days to come and it will really be a lot better if we LOOK and ACT like we’re on the same side and members of the same Family!

What is True Humility?
Sunday, May 17th, 2009 | Author: Roger

Humility
HUMIL’ITY, n. [L. humilitas.]

1. In ethics, freedom from pride and arrogance; humbleness of mind; a modest estimate of one’s own worth. In theology, humility consists in lowliness of mind; a deep sense of one’s own unworthiness in the sight of God, self-abasement, penitence for sin, and submission to the divine will.
Before honor is humility. Prov 15.
Serving the Lord with all humility of mind. Acts 20.
2. Act of submission. With these humilities they satisfied the young king.

It is in the humble heart that “the high and lofty One,… whose name is Holy” dwells (Isa_57:15; compare Isa_66:2).  Humility is the way to true greatness: he who should “humble himself as this little child” should be “the greatest in the kingdom of heaven”; “Whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted” (Mat_18:4; Mat_23:12; Luk_14:11; Luk_18:14). To the humble mind truth is revealed (Mat_11:25; Luk_10:21). Jesus set a touching example of humility in His washing His disciples’ feet (Jn 13:1-17).

I heard the Lord say to me one day. Son do you know what humility is? Of course I’ve learned to answer; only You know Lord what is true humility. He said; humility is you standing still, while I reach into you and pull out the best. Because I know what I placed in you even before time began. ( titus 1:2 )

False humility is when you believe that you’ve surrendered everything to God, but never encounter the true purpose of what He placed in you. But we believe we have nothing good to offer to God. So we are instructed to become something more. Children the treasures that God wants revealed is in your spirit, not your mind. So if you want to see what been placed in you. Let God pull it out in His time and His way. There is a fullness of time when God brings to the front all that He purposed for your life. This only comes when we submit our life to His timing and not ours or mans. This is when you’ll find yourself walking in the kingdom of heaven and know how to identify it by what the Lord to pulls out of you. By becoming humble as a little child. The kingdom will be revealed to you that it is already in you, around you and at hand. You can’t rush it, because it only come through trusting Him to bring out the real you.

So chill and know that He is God.

The purpose of prophecy
Friday, February 20th, 2009 | Author: Roger

Prophecy is something that everyone wants the ability to do. But how many really know the purpose of prophecy. I believe that prophecy is meant to bring things back together that are broken. Some people can see the future, some can receive things such as a word of knowledge or wisdom. But what good is prophecy, if you can’t tell someone how to fix what’s broken, or why it needs to be fixed. What good is this gift of prophecy, If you’re afraid to tell them the truth so they can find the kind of freedom that remains (John 8:32). They want freedom from the things that broke them. That’s why they sought Jesus. We told them that Jesus came to heal and set the captives free. Prophecy is used to help people rebuild their life and re-establish their place in the kingdom of God and to tear down anything in their lives that hinders it. I am one who God allows to see many things. Your past and present, but only to help you get to your future.  If I only see your future and can’t see the things that were broken in the past, how am I going to help you right now?  This will not help you and it will only keep you in the same place of failure.  Hopelessness will cause you to give up the vision that God gave to you.  Prophets are called to help find the answer to the problem. Things that are old and broken create real problems when a person is tries to do new things with them for God.  If they’re still bound by the past, the enemy will allow them to mix the old with the new. Knowing that they’ll never have the power needed to accomplish their mission for the kingdom of Heaven. Mat 9:16  “No one patches up an old coat with a piece of new cloth, for the new patch will shrink and make an even bigger hole in the coat. Mat 9:17  Nor does anyone pour new wine into used wineskins, for the skins will burst, the wine will pour out, and the skins will be ruined. Instead, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins, and both will keep in good condition.” (GNB) This is why so many people never fulfill they’re purpose in the kingdom of God. They are made to believe that they are made completely new and have no further need of inter healing in any other area of their life. We are Three parts man, spirit, soul and body. They add this sinking- thinking to their new life in Christ and after a while everything begins to tear open and everything in side comes out. Both the good and the bad. Here is where words of prophecy spoken to them of their future begin to look doubtful and the vision can perish. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, in binding up the brokenness, of our mental state of hopelessness. Why?  Because we’re taught to believe the enemy doesn’t have any  authority in any areas of our life,  you know Jesus comes in and the devil leaves.  Do you believe this? Then what is causing God’s people to sin? Its the weakness and brokenness of God’s people that keep us trapped in the devil play ground.  If we’ve overcome the enemy, then why is the leaders falling left and right? The only way to become more holy today is to deal with the issues that broke us yesterday.  Then we can begin to build our part of the kingdom, which is our reason for being here. Eph 2:10  God has made us what we are, and in our union with Christ Jesus he has created us for a life of good deeds, which he has already prepared for us to do. Greek; meaning; to fit up in advance, ordain before, prepare before. (G4282) Good News Bible The purpose of the prophet voice is to cause things that are broken to be returned to the original intent of their created purpose. Let’s look at this story in the scriptures and find some hidden manna. 2Ki 6:1  One day the group of prophets that Elisha was in charge of complained to him, “The place where we live is too small! 2Ki 6:2  Give us permission to go to the Jordan and cut down some trees, so that we can build a place to live.” “All right,” Elisha answered. 2Ki 6:3  One of them urged him to go with them; he agreed, 2Ki 6:4  and they set out together. When they arrived at the Jordan, they began to work. 2Ki 6:5  As one of them was cutting down a tree, suddenly his iron ax head fell in the water. “What shall I do, sir?” he exclaimed to Elisha. “It was a borrowed ax!” 2Ki 6:6  “Where did it fall?” Elisha asked. The man showed him the place, and Elisha cut off a stick, threw it in the water, and made the ax head float. 2Ki 6:7  “Take it out,” he ordered, and the man reached down and picked it up. (GNB) The story is focused on a dwelling place and the ax. The prophets needed a larger place to live and in order for them to have this, trees were needed to build it. They would need an ax to cut the timber to build this new home. This would be done at the river Jordon, a place of new beginnings. While in the process of cutting the trees, one of the men looses the ax head in the water. The servant comes to Elisha and says; I was working to make this vision come true and the process was stopped when the ax head came off and fell into the water. The ax was borrowed and he didn’t have the means to replace it. When the prophet of God was called upon, The first question was; where did it fall. Here we find the meaning of revival. To make to stand up or to do your first works over. He instructed the servant to reveal where this took place so that he could do what prophets do. He cut off a branch and drew it into the water where the ax head had fallen. The act of this was the purpose of the prophetic. When used properly it brings together the divided things that were meant to be one. The ax head needed the branch to give it power to cut, as much as the handle needs the ax head to succeed in cutting down trees. Prophecy was given to solve a problem, not create one. But the servant had to reach out at the prophets words and pick up the ax head. The prophet didn’t do it for him. It was now the responsibility of the servant to put the two back together and finish what he had purposed to do. Build a larger lodge for his fellow servants. Thought; why didn’t Elisha just take off his robe and hit the water and part it? Then the man could have just step down and picked it up? Do you know what I think? I think the water represents the spirit and the spirit longs to return to us the things we use for Papa God. I think that the handle was old and worn out and a new one needed.  So when it broke, Elisha cut a new handle. When he put it into the water symbolizing the spirit, the ax head is returned to fulfill it purpose.  The things that prophets are meant to do it to create new hope and purpose.  Causing you to have the confidence that you can finish what you started. Are you using something that belongs to someone else and it’s worn out? God wants you to be able to use all the power He gave you, and to not be afraid of losing it. Hey! Do you feel like you’ve lost something in the water? The word says; that He’s the vine and you’re the branch, so do you want to jump in or do you need a push? He’ll bring all things back together for you.  Just deep thinking !!! Blessing, Roger Fields Fields of Harvest

How much does truth cost?
Tuesday, February 03rd, 2009 | Author: Roger

While thinking today, the issue of truth came to mind. Then the armor of God came to mind. You might say; why the armor? Well the first piece of the armor is the belt of truth. Why truth? Well if you’re going to have to fight for something, shouldn’t you at least know the truth of why you’re being asked to fight? And what’s this battle going to cost you?

So, what’s the meaning of truth?  Definition: firmness, faithfulness, truth, sureness, reliability, continuance. A testimony of truth as seen and experienced. Something also seen as true doctrine.

The belt’s purpose was used to hold the sheave for the sword, as well as other things. Not just to hold up the pants, which it’s pretty obvious, when you look at some of these guys walking around today. But when this scriptures were written, it was during the time when men wore robes and carried swords as protection and defense.  The belt was also used to hold the robe close to the body, out of the way, so the man could move quickly without fear of being tangle in his garment, which could cost him his life. The belt was also used to hold the garment in place when the man needed to run, he would tuck the end of the garment under the belt so he wouldn’t trip on the hem.

The belt was also used to hold the breast plate in place, so as to keep it from moving when in battle. So when you look at it, the belt, like truth can be seen as being pretty important. That is, when it came to holding everything together and in it’s proper place. Remember the belt of truth is the first piece, not the last! So make sure you study the word of God so you’ll know the truth of God. Then you’ll know what’s expected of you to be successful. Every person needs to count the cost of joining God’s army. Anyone who joins the military understands that they are laying down their rights. The pledge they make to serve their king or president could cost them their life and they understand this very well. When you join the armed forces, you no longer have a right to say what war or wars you will fight. Because when you take an oath of loyalty to your commander and chief, you have to lay down your rights if you’re to fulfill your promise.  Do you understand the cost of serving Christ and the Heavenly Father? Christ did, and was willing and obedient to serve His Father all the way to the cross. What do you believe this walk will cost you? Do you think you have the right to decide what battles are worth fighting? Do you believe you shouldn’t have to struggle to serve God. Did you join, because someone said; oh, it’s easy to serve in God’s army. Is this the kind of truth you hold to? What does your truth demand of you, in your service to Christ Jesus? Truth will reveal who you serve. Because people’s outward expressions, always reveal the truth held within. So, what is you’re truth?  JUST THINKING!!!
